It’s lunch time in Seattle, where I’m attending SMX Advanced! I’ve attended 2 sessions so far today: A “You & A” with Matt Cutts, Head of Google’s Web Spam Team and Paid Search Round-table session with some big names from Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, Microsoft adCenter & Ask.com.

The trend so far is that if you’re an SEM beginner, you’ve come to the wrong conference! The speakers are presenting a pretty high level of expertise and so far the crowd seems to get it. It’s nice to sit in a conference and hear about the up & coming strategies, platforms, etc. instead of hearing the same SEO approaches from other Search Engine Conferences.

So far, it seems to be much more advanced for real.

More to come later…

Lots of us in the search marketing industry have been waiting to see how Danny Sullivan’s new show, SMX Advanced will turn out.

I’m standing in the booth now, and the show floor is just opening up. There aren’t a lot of exhibitors, maybe 30, but that could definitely be a good thing. There also isn’t a huge crowd, but it certainly seems to be a more educated crowd. People seem to know SEO. The few people that visited our booth prior to actually opening seemed to know what they’re here for and have much better questions than we typically get at SES Conferences.

Jen’s been in the sessions and has some comments. She’ll be posting shortly…
