This White House is All About Censorship
November 11th, 2009
You’ve heard by now some of the stories surrounding comments made about Fox News by the White House. The President has said that the Fox News organization is nothing more than a “talk radio station”, implying that Fox News is too conservative for his taste. He later stated that he was not losing sleep over his administrations actions and views towards Fox.
The White House at one point was denying Fox News access to interviews with staffers. Only when other news organizations, fearing similar treatment should the White house not like some of their reporting, protested did the White House lift the ban.
When making the rounds of the Sunday talk shows, Obama famously and obviously skipped the Chris Wallace show on Fox.
Now, the White House is apparently using thinly veiled threats to keep Dems and their strategists off the network. The LA Times reported that a strategist that appeared on the Fox News network recently was contacted by the White House and told that they had better not see him on the network again. The caller insinuated that the strategist could suddenly lose clients if he persisted in appearing on Fox News.
You’d think that with 10.2% unemployment, a desperate need for troops in Afghanistan, and the current health care bill in Congress, the White House would have enough to do. Apparently not, as they have decided to become the bully on the playground. Or, as Chris Wallace aptly put it, “the biggest group of crybabies” ever.
We’ve got to make sure this guy never gets control of the web!
